An Orbita burl-wood watch winder, hand-built in Wilmington, North Carolina
Our Story

Precision is not a goal. It is a standard.

Hand-built in Wilmington, North Carolina since 1996.

Since 1996

The world's most precise watch winder.

Orbita was founded in 1996 by a mechanical engineer who believed automatic watches deserved better than continuous, uncontrolled rotation. The answer was to wind intermittently — reproducing the natural motion of the wrist, then resting.

Every Orbita winder uses one of two patented systems: the kinetic, cordless Rotorwind® or our microprocessor-regulated Programmable line. Two mechanisms, one standard — protecting your timepiece for decades.

The Founder

Charles Agnoff

Orbita was founded in 1996 in Wilmington, North Carolina by Charles Agnoff — a mechanical engineer with a passion for horology who recognized that automatic watches deserved better than continuous, uncontrolled rotation.

That conviction became the patented Rotorwind® system, and a company that still engineers, assembles, and services every winder at the same Wilmington address.

Made in Wilmington. Never sourced, never rebadged.

Every motor, cup, and control board is assembled, tested, and serviced in a single facility in North Carolina — no contract manufacturing, no shortcuts.

The service life of an Orbita winder is measured in decades. A winder bought in 1998 is still serviceable today, at the same address it left twenty-five years ago.

Protecting the world's finest timepieces, one precise rotation at a time.
